Return gifts for 20 guests can be bought in an afternoon. For 100 or more, a little planning saves money and last-minute panic. Here is a simple plan that works for birthdays, weddings, housewarmings and poojas.
1. Count guests the right way
Start from your confirmed list, then decide who gets a gift. Will every adult get one, or one per family? Do children get a separate gift? Write the rules down so everyone helping you counts the same way.
- Per person: common at kids’ parties and ladies’ functions.
- Per family: common at housewarmings and large poojas.
- Two lists: one gift for children and another for adults.
2. Add a buffer
Unexpected guests, siblings and helpers mean you will almost always need a few extra. Many hosts add 10% or so; choose what feels right for your function. The return gift calculator on our homepage adds the buffer and works out the packs for you.
3. Fix a per-piece budget
Decide what one gift should cost, not the total. It is easier to compare gifts that way, and it keeps the total predictable. Our budget pages are organised exactly like this: under ₹50 and under ₹100.
4. Choose gifts that pack evenly
If you need 55 gifts and the pack has 12, you will buy 60. If it has 25, you will buy 75. Look at a few pack sizes before deciding, because the cheapest pack is not always the cheapest total.
| Gifts needed | Pack of 12 | Pack of 25 |
|---|---|---|
| 55 | 5 packs → 60 gifts | 3 packs → 75 gifts |
| 44 | 4 packs → 48 gifts | 2 packs → 50 gifts |
5. Order early and check on arrival
- Order a single sample first if you can.
- Count every pack the day it arrives.
- Keep the boxes until the function, in case you need to return or replace anything.
6. Plan the hand-out
Put one person in charge at the exit, keep the gifts in labelled boxes (kids / adults), and add a thank-you tag. Our thank-you message ideas and packing ideas help with the finishing touches.
